Image of the Divine Mercy
Last Holy Monday, while doing my morning meditation, I had a vision of Jesus, with rays of light emanating from His heart, like the image of the Divine Mercy. It felt like a prompt to visit a church dedicated to the Divine Mercy, and so we decided to add the Divine Mercy Church in Silang to our list for Visita Iglesia.
On the way there, I pondered why I was given this message, wondering “Why the Divine Mercy specifically?”
I felt profound joy the moment I stepped foot on the church grounds, with beautiful emotions running high within me. His love overwhelmed me to the point of tears, and I cried silently while sitting on one of the pews, even though I hadn't started praying yet, enveloped in the bliss of His light.
As I remained still in His loving embrace, I heard Him say, "You’re completely healed! Wala ka ng cancer. Magaling ka na!" I cried even more upon hearing His message.
How profound is it that God knows the assurance our hearts seek before we even know it ourselves? Though I already believed and trusted that I am healed, God led me to the Divine Mercy Church to reconfirm this truth and dispel any doubt. How great is His love that He would go to such lengths just to reassure me!
But it doesn’t end there, in the same way that God’s love doesn’t stop with just us. He said, “This is a confirmation of your healing. Live a healthy life and be an inspiration to others.”
I believe that God didn’t heal me just for my own sake—He healed me to be a living testimony of His goodness as well. God is so good, and I am so blessed to be here now and tell you this story.
Isn’t God amazing, my dear friend? He is extravagant in His love, as illustrated in Him calling me to visit the Divine Mercy Church to reaffirm His healing power over my life in a personal way. God, in His boundless grace, is consistent and He had His reasons to lead me there, to tell me His message intimately. The last time God gave me my healing message was three years ago. He reiterated that same message again on Good Friday at the Divine Mercy church.
Reflecting on God’s love, mercy, and grace, I've come to realize that Good Friday is the pinnacle of love in the Bible. It's where God demonstrated His infinite love for us, mankind, by sacrificing His one and only beloved son for the redemption of our sins.
On Good Friday, Jesus, out of love for you and me, endured unimaginable suffering—being beaten, carrying the heavy cross to Calvary, enduring mockery and ridicule from sinners, and ultimately dying on the cross.
Despite having the power to intervene, God, driven by His boundless love and mercy, allowed His son to undergo such agony. He sacrificed His son for our sake, such is His profound love for us. And it is through Jesus' death, God's profound love, His grace, and mercy that we have been saved.
My friend, perhaps you find yourself in a personal "Good Friday" moment in your life.
Maybe you're facing the lowest point imaginable, grappling with despair, and on the verge of giving up.
Maybe you've lost a loved one, a job, are battling an untreatable disease or have hit rock bottom, I encourage you: do not lose hope, do not give up.
Even if it feels like the only hope you cling to is as fragile as a thread, hold onto it. Hold onto your faith, hold onto God's promise.
Remember, God loves you immensely—enough to sacrifice His son for us. What more could He not provide for us? Our needs, healing, restoration of broken relationships, financial burdens—nothing is beyond His power. Our God is unfathomably loving.
"He is not here; He has risen"
Luke 24:6
He has His reasons for allowing unfavorable circumstances in our lives, even if they hurt or cause pain. Trust that whatever the reason may be, it is always for the better, just as He allowed Jesus to be crucified on the cross on Good Friday.
And one thing is certain: Easter Sunday is coming! Jesus conquered Good Friday; He triumphed over death.
He rose again on Easter Sunday!
So, my friend, whatever you're hoping and praying for, keep the faith. Our prayers will be answered in due time. God is always with us, patiently waiting. Come to Him, for He is waiting with open arms.
God loves you!
Love and Light,
Alpha
