Do you know?
Do you know and not just believe?
Friend, there are times in our lives when we believe God is here, and God is good, and God has a plan, but in our hearts, we don’t know. We don’t know certainly, we don’t know for sure – how do we know something so surely when every day, we are surrounded by doubt?
It’s the same question we ask when we’re faced with an armful of decisions. How do I know this is the right thing? How do I know I’m right on track? How do I know I’m doing the good thing, that I’m doing the best that I can? How do I know if I should move or if I should undergo surgery or if I should pursue this instead of that?
Sure, we believe that all things work together for those who are called to His purpose, but how do we know that we know? Is what we believe the same as what we know? Is believing, the same thing as knowing? 💫
I believed natural medicine can heal me. I believed that if I did it correctly, if I believed wholeheartedly, I would be healed. I believed and I believed.
But my belief is different from my knowing. The knowing that I felt the moment my doctor told me I had to undergo surgery. The knowing that overcame me as an epiphany, sitting there in my doctor’s office, fearful and all kinds of anxious.
This knowing was something stronger, and something deeper – something that was woven into my heart, a knowing that was so abstract and yet so tangible. It’s as though God placed it in the very fibre of my soul, His whisper rippling across the atoms of my being, His will revealed to me, wondrously, in a breath.
During the weeks that led to the big day, I surrendered myself to Him and surrounded myself with love – boundless, incomprehensible love. Love that left no room for fear. Love that let me be still and know. ❤️
Think back to the times where you just knew. You just knew you had to take this job, you just knew you had to propose to this one person, you just knew that letting go/holding on was the right thing to do. Think back to those times and remember what you felt.
A knowing from God gives you peace beyond all measure. A knowing from God opens your eyes to the truth that is love – that you are surrounded by so much love, that there is no room for fear. 🌈
Maybe, right now, things are so messy for you. Maybe your kids are crying, maybe you’re in debt, maybe you’re wondering where your measly paycheck will take you and your family next. Maybe you’re trying hard to discern whether to follow the route that the people around you want to go, or to forge your own path. Maybe right now, you’re trying to decide.
There’s this saying about love, “When you know, you know.” My friend, take the time today to be still and know. To be still and rest in His love, no pretenses, no questions asked, no explanations needed, without a need to do – just to be. ✨
My friend, I pray that you know. That you know love, and that you know Him, and through that, you get to receive His will. I pray that you get to see all the beauty that there is in knowing. God knows you. I pray that you get to know Him, and that He reveals His will for you today. 🙏🏻
If there’s one thing that we are assured of, it’s that God is faithful and He never fails.
Praying for you always,
Alpha
